WHAT IS SHILAJIT RESIN?
Shilajit formed as a result of slow decomposition and fermentation of plant matter that was trapped within the rocks of the Himalayas when Indian plate and Eurasian plate collided some 50 million years ago. During summer months, the resin becomes thinner and seeps out of the cracks and crevices of the rocks. To learn more about history of Shilajit, click here.
IS SHILAJIT VEGAN?
Yes, The Whole Reason™ Shilajit is vegan.
IS YOUR SHILAJIT ORGANIC?
Shilajit is a naturally occurring plant fossil that is trapped inside the rocks and took millions of years to produce under pristine conditions. As Shilajit is not an agricultural product and can not be "grown" under controlled environment, it may not be certified as organic.
CAN I TEST AUTHENTICITY OF SHILAJIT AT HOME?
There are some home tests that people use to attempt to determine the authenticity of Shilajit. Please visit our blog for more information on these home tests.
WHAT IS FULVIC ACID PERCENTAGE IN YOUR SHILAJIT?
Due to the complex nature of fulvic acid and the lack of standardized testing methods, accurately measuring its percentage in Shilajit is not currently possible. Fulvic acid's unknown molecular weight and its inseparable nature from other components within Shilajit make precise measurement challenging. Because Shilajit is a naturally occurring substance, its composition can vary between batches. Therefore, any Fulvic acid percentage that is advertised, may vary greatly from batch to batch. We choose not to claim any fulvic acid percentage in our Shilajit, to avoid misleading consumers.
IS HIGHER DOSE OF SHILAJIT BETTER?
Not all Shilajit is the same. Dosage recommendations greatly vary between Shilajit products in the market. Please follow the serving instructions on our product packaging.
THE LID IS STUCK TO THE JAR AND I CANNOT OPEN IT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
It is natural for genuine Shilajit to become hard when exposed to colder temperatures below 80°F. Place it in a warmer area of the home and let it soften. If lid is stuck to the jar, place it under warm running water for few minutes.
MY SHILAJIT BECAME DRY INSIDE THE JAR. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Shilajit can become hard like rock when it loses moisture. This can happen over a long period of time if lid is not tightly closed. Simply add few drops of warm purified water and let it sit for a few hours. Water will dissolve seamlessly, providing moisture and thinner consistency to the resin.
Why does my Shilajit smell and taste different from previous batch?

Can I consume Shilajit every day?
Yes, you can. However, we recommend following Ayurveda's best practices of taking periodic breaks to avoid dependency and allow your body to reset. Learn more about the optimal Shilajit consumption cycle in our blog post here.
